Job Introduction
Salary: Dependent on skills and experience
Working pattern: Term time plus two weeks
At All’s Well School, we work with children and young people who have faced significant barriers to education and learning.
Through patience, trust, consistency and the right support, we help learners rebuild confidence, develop new skills and achieve outcomes they may never have thought possible.
We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated Class Teacher & SENCO to join our team and support learners with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
This is more than a teaching role. You’ll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, inspire a love of learning and help young people overcome barriers, develop resilience and achieve their potential in a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment.
For the right candidate, there may also be an opportunity to take on the SENCO role, helping to coordinate and develop provision for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
If you’re a compassionate, resilient and reflective teacher who believes every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed, we’d love to hear from you.
The Role
Working as part of our dedicated education team, you’ll plan and deliver engaging, creative and personalised learning experiences that meet the individual needs of our pupils.
You’ll adapt your teaching to support a range of SEMH, SEND and neurodiverse needs, helping learners develop their knowledge, confidence, independence and readiness to learn. Through consistent routines, positive relationships and trauma-informed practice, you’ll create an environment where pupils feel safe, supported and able to make progress.
You’ll work closely with teaching assistants, therapeutic staff, families and external professionals to ensure pupils receive the support they need to achieve positive academic, social and personal outcomes.
No two days are the same, but every day offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured and differentiated lessons that meet individual learning needs.
- Assessing, monitoring and recording pupil progress, adapting teaching and interventions to support achievement.
- Delivering targeted interventions, catch-up programmes and individualised learning activities.
- Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and supporting the development of resilience, independence and emotional wellbeing.
- Using relational, trauma-informed and restorative approaches to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
- Establishing calm, consistent classroom routines and creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Implementing individual support plans, behaviour strategies, risk assessments and therapeutic recommendations.
- Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff to promote engagement and maximise learning opportunities.
- Supporting pupils to overcome barriers to education, repair relationships and re-engage with learning.
- Working closely with families, therapists, social workers and external professionals to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Contributing to EHCP reviews, annual reviews, reports, multi-agency meetings and individual support planning.
- Promoting safeguarding and pupil wellbeing, ensuring concerns are reported promptly in line with school policies.
- Supporting attendance, reintegration and transitions where required.
- Contributing to curriculum development, school improvement and your own ongoing professional development.
For candidates taking on the SENCO role, responsibilities will also include coordinating SEND provision, advising colleagues on appropriate support strategies, maintaining accurate SEND records, liaising with external agencies and monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of EHCPs.
About You
We’re looking for someone who shares our commitment to helping every young person reach their full potential.
You’ll be:
- A qualified teacher holding QTS, QTLS, Cert Ed or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Passionate about delivering engaging, inclusive and high-quality teaching.
- Experienced in adapting learning to meet a range of SEMH, SEND and neurodiverse needs.
- Confident in managing challenging situations with patience, compassion and consistency.
- Skilled at building positive relationships based on trust, respect and clear boundaries.
- Knowledgeable about trauma-informed practice, emotional regulation and positive behaviour support.
- Able to assess pupil progress and use this information to plan effective teaching and targeted interventions.
- Committed to safeguarding, inclusion and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people.
- A strong team player who communicates effectively with colleagues, families and external professionals.
- Flexible, resilient and reflective, with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
- Confident using IT and school information systems to record progress, maintain documentation and support effective communication.
Experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs, particularly within specialist provision, is highly desirable. Experience of delivering precision teaching, literacy and numeracy interventions, and supporting pupils with EHCPs would also be beneficial.
A relevant degree or subject qualification is desirable. Candidates interested in the SENCO opportunity should hold the relevant qualification or demonstrate the eligibility and capability to work towards it.
A full driving licence and access to a car for business use are required.
Above all, you’ll bring the values, attitude and commitment needed to make a positive difference to young people’s lives every day.

When you join us, you’ll become part of a dedicated team focused on changing lives through education.
We offer:

- Ongoing training, coaching and professional development.
